Fantastic.
I am really enjoying this series Carol. I just love the expression you have captured on the old fellow wearing the black beanie to the left. Lucky he wasn't looking at you!

@Helen: Thanks. Despite the occasion there was a real excitement in the air - the sheer size of the protest was awesome. I guess he couldn't quite take it in.
You have a knack for capturing expression !
This coupled with your photographic skills leave so many great photos that if I took the time to comment on everyone I like I'd be pinned down in front of the computer for days !
For instance, looking at the above photo I can see a different story in every individuals face . So instead of being long winded I'll just say, This is really good stuff !

What I like about this photo, isn't the photo. It's the responses to the photo. You see, the expressions that Carol has captured here have been remarked on by several people, and most of those comments have remarked on the variety of those expressions.
Perhaps it's my old socialist mind, but didn't Trotsky once point out, that the first 5 workers he ever met, taught him everything he needed to know about Revolution. There was the revolutionary, keen and enthusiastic, who thought you could fight and win immediately, then there was the reactionary, the counter-revolutionary, the scab, who would cross the picket line and sell out his fellow wokers. And in between, there were three workers who vacilated. Sometimes they fought, and sometimes they retreated. Pulled one way or the other.
This picture captures those 5 people. From the grim working class defiance etched on the women's face (on the far left of course) to the venomous anger of the man to the right of her. The other 3 guys are unsure, they are watching the demonstration and the camera, but aren't yet ready to join the protest, or condemn it.
